New Year, New You

It’s that time of year again when we take stock of who we are and the person we want to be.
After the excesses of the party season – the late nights, the rich meals, the cocktails and extra glasses of Champagne – it is easy to see why we want to turn over a new leaf as the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve. So, will it be a new hairstyle? A new fitness regime to kickstart those energy levels? Or perhaps you plan to start – and stick to – a healthy diet to lose those extra pounds that have somehow crept on?
Or have you decided at long last to put into action your dreams of having that cosmetic procedure you have put off for years?
New Year is a time for looking forward – there’s a whole new year to fill with fun, joy and happiness. Embrace the changes you desire, but whatever your plans for 2012, maintain a positive attitude and SMILE!

White Hair & Beauty Company
The White Hair & Beauty Company has been established for 9 years and continues to grow from strength to strength.
Semi-Permanent Make-up:
One of our reputations is for our specialised treatment of semi permanent make-up. The way in which Lisa White applies herself to this is to enhance and frame features naturally which gives a soft beautiful approach. Having done this procedure for over fifteen years, Lisa is one of the most qualified in this field and clients come from far a field to achieve their desired look. Semi permanent is life changing as it gives a great feeling of confidence without the use of make-up, whether it is eyebrows to lift and correct the shape or to open the eye area. This itself gives you the opportunity to take out stray and unruly brows that have changed in texture or that more definition wouldn’t go a miss.
Eyeliner however is great for really enhancing the lash line to give the appearance of thicker lashes or a line to open the eye and excensuate the eye area. Also lip liner can look great to give colour and shape to make lips fuller and more voluptutious. All the above procedures can suit any individuals of any age and skin type.
Daily routines can become less demanding and giving more time to start your day.

Air Aesthetics Clinic
Skin Resurfacing
Hi, my name is Dr Claire Oliver (BDS). I am the clinical director of Air Aesthetics, soon to be relocating to 121 High Street, Henley-in-Arden in early December.
We specialise in natural looking results and we will give you the best advice to help you look your most radiant. We can put together a personalised individual patient program that will have you looking your best and feeling more vibrant.
Working from years of experience, my philosophy is simple: Less is more. With this in mind, I have helped many people improve the appearance of their skin and one of the most exciting treatments to date is ‘Obagi Nu- Derm’. This product can peel, rejuvenate and de-pigment any type of skin safely. Consequently it’s a great all rounder that can miraculously transform your skin.
I have been using the treatment myself. It’s an eighteen week programme and I apply the products twice daily. Already the difference in my skin is incredible. My open pores and sun spots have gone and whilst my skin looks flawless, it glows. I look and feel like a younger person!
Obagi Nu-Derm contains the prescription strength ingredients Hydroquinone and Tretinoin. Unlike over the counter products, it penetrates deeper below the skins surface correcting damage within its many layers. Obagi also creates an acceleration of the skin’s cellular turnover – which means it functions like younger, healthier skin.
Obagi Nu-Derm:
Pushes new, healthy cells to the surface faster, for smoother skin and reduced wrinkles.
Corrects pigmentation (freckles and age spots) and prevents the appearance of new pigmentation.
Promotes better skin structure and balanced, even skin tone.
Increases collagen and elastin for firmer, more resilient skin.
Enables the skin to function as younger, healthier skin.
Costs: Approximately £395.00 for initial 18 week treatment.
December Special Offer: Refer a friend and you’ll receive 20% off all treatments*. Your friend will receive 10% or 15% if you wish to share your discount!

New Season, New Hair
Aesthetics, the multi-award winning hair salon on Dovehouse Parade, has just added another accolade to its status. For the fourth consecutive year the talented team has won the national Redken NYC Hair Award, picking up the gong in the Colour Genius category.
Proving they have prowess when it comes to stylish hair know-how, Aesthetics share their trends for Autumn / Winter 2011.
Colour
Changing seasons means changing hair and autumn / winter always sees a return of earthy, warm tones. However this year the change is perhaps bolder than previously, with deep reds and purples electrifying the autumnal, berry tones.
Whilst purple may not be everyone’s colour of choice, red continues to build on its popularity from the summer and is billed to be even hotter this season. Unlike purple, red can suit almost all skin colours as long as the right tone is used; as Karen Elson, Rihanna, Christina Hendricks & Florence all prove.
If you want to incorporate the warm colours of autumn without having a drastic change these are a few of the options available.
Dark hair - add flecks of bold red and purple to flatter and warm skin tone
Brunettes – create an interesting twist with cooler browns mixed with warm browns
Red heads - add warmer, lighter tones to flatter and bring out your earthy more natural side
Beach blondes - transform with apricot hues for a sophisticated glamorous look
Style
Ponytails dominated the Autumn / Winter ‘11 catwalks. Simple as they sound, a multitude of looks can be achieved. Plus, it’s simple and adaptable to suit any face shape and is a style that is quick and easy to do – perfect when you’re short on time.
Two contrasting versions of the humble ponytail were spotted on the catwalk: the sleek, sharp sexually charged look and a looser, low-slung, textured style.
To avoid school-girl errors when it comes to ponytails follow these basic rules:
Hide elastic with a strip of hair secured with a pin underneath
If using a parting, ensure it is ruler straight
High ponytails should be worn in the centre of the head and no higher than the brow line
Choose either super sleek, straight and simple OR textured with trimmings – don’t mix-match the two
Sarah commented: “The great thing with ponytails is that almost everyone can embrace them with a little help from hair-pieces to add length or thickness. They are perfect for windier weather too, helping to protect hair from knots and tangles.”
Sarah Bowron, joint managing director of Aesthetics, said: “At Aesthetics we keep a close eye on what’s hot on the catwalk and translate high-fashion trends to styles and colours that are ready-to-wear for every-day life, whilst providing an extension to individual flair and personality.”
