The Midlands Fashion Designer Awards 2011

The Midlands Fashion Designer Awards (MFDA) in association with Claire’s and the Alan Sharman Model Agency are pleased to announce that the annual fashion awards will be held in the beautiful venue, Fazeley Studios, Birmingham on Friday 21st October 2011.
The annual event offers up and coming fashion designers a platform for exposure together with the opportunity to showcase their collection to a panel of industry professionals and fashion enthusiasts.
Over the past three years, the annual event has grown from strength to strength and has secured prominent industry support in the form of Claire’s UK, Toni&Guy, the Clothes Show Live, one of the largest UK fashion events handpicked a number of designers from the 2010 fashion awards to showcase at their main fashion theatre catwalk.
This year’s Midlands Fashion Designer Awards will feature twenty eight of some of the hottest new, emerging and independent fashion designers from across the region. One lucky designer from each of the following categories: Evening Wear, Ready to Wear, Haute Couture and Emerging Designers Showcase will be competing to become the best designer in their chosen category and to win a prize for their creativity and talent.
Jenny Eason Show Director said, “The Midlands Fashion Awards was created from a desire to improve opportunities for newly emerging fashion designers. The annual event aims to offer opportunities to fashion designers who are just starting out and who do not have the means by which to put on their own show”.
As well as the spectacular fashion shows, visitors to the event will be able to access free beauty and pampering courtesy of Claire’s beauty and stylists.
There will be a raffle held on the evening with fabulous prizes donated by our supporters, Claire’s, the Clothes Show Live, Tights Please, LoveLula.com, Lypsy and the Pitcher & Piano with proceeds going to this year’s chosen charity, Breast Cancer Care.
The event will also bring together accessories designers selling unique pieces from their collection, fashion industry professionals, consumers, models and the media to experience one of the most exciting fashion events on the Birmingham fashion calendar.
